Hi I'm John Riggle, Founder, President, CEO, CFO, Cheif Designer, Master Builder, Marketing Director, Shop Manager, Shipping Manager, Head Mechanic, Personnel Director, and IT Manager of J.RIG Wood Works.

My wife Tracy is the boss.

I was born in the small town of Glen Dale, WV, and I have always been a rather crafty person. If I wasn't hunting or fishing or riding a dirt bike, I was in the garage, beating up my Dad's tools and trying to build something!

Following a kitchen countertop replacement in the Spring of 2013, a couple of scrap pieces of butcher block countertop led to the J.Rig Wood Works enterprise of today. With a couple of hand tools and a pack of sand paper, the first J.Rig cutting board was produced.

All cutting boards, island tops, and serving trays are butcher block style, individually made to order. A standard board is 1.5" (3.8 cm) thick, but I can produce just about any thickness required. Just ask.

Pricing varies with wood species, thickness, and required cuts/grooves, but for a general idea of cost, consider $40 per square foot.
